✅ long-haul → long distance
- a long-haul flight
- long haulは名詞だが、ハイフンでつないでるので形容詞になる。
✅ exhilarating → 爽快な・明るい気分にさせる
- exhilarating outdoor activities
✅ on a regular basis →定期的に
- =regularly, periodically
✅ whereby → by means of which / according to which と言い換え可能
e.g.) Tourism New Zealand organized a scheme whereby the organizations underwent an independent evaluation against a set of agreed national standards of quality.
※ a set of ~ は単に「後に続くものがsetになってる」ってだけなので難しく考えない！

日本語でも「スレート」と言うように（主に屋根などの建築資材として使用）、slateはもともと「粘板岩」のことで、紙が普及する以前は文字を書き込んでおく石版の素材でした。そこから派生して、clean slate（白紙の状態）というイディオムがあります。
- ビジネスでもよく使う表現。
e.g.) The new school is slated to open this week.
✅ with a clean slate →白紙の状態で
ネイティブは頻繁に使う表現。
e.g.) Let’s start over the plan with a clean slate. （計画を白紙に戻してやり直しましょう）
- start over = redo 「やり直す」の最も一般的な表現
- I'll start over. やり直すわ。
